Burger Buns home made - Valle del Crati

How about preparing the famous Burger Buns?

Surely you have heard of them! They are the typical burger buns that you eat at fast food restaurants or buy at the supermarket; this time, however, we prepare them at home thanks to an easy, affordable recipe.

Soft, neutral-tasting and with the characteristic sesame coating, these buns will be perfect for a night out with friends.

You can fill them as you like, even in a vegetarian and VEG version.

This recipe is ideal for 8 large rolls:

· 300 g strength flour

· 200 g 0 flour

· 30 g sugar

· 250 ml water

· 50 ml seed oil

· 10 g brewer's yeast

· 11 g salt

· milk for brushing (alternatively vegetable drink)

· sesame seeds to taste

Method

First make the leaven: mix 100 g flour with 100 g water and the brewer's yeast (taken from the recipe total).

Stir until soft, then cover with cling film and leave to rise for about 1 hr.

After this time has elapsed, add the remaining flour, sugar and water to the rising mixture and knead by hand or in the planetary mixer. When the dough is firm, add the oil a little at a time and knead.

Add the salt last, continue to knead and form a ball; place the dough in a container and leave to rise covered with clingfilm for about 3 hours (it should triple in volume).

Now turn the dough out onto a work surface and divide it into 8 pieces of 100 g (60 g if you want smaller rolls).

Roll each ball on the work surface with the palm of your hand until smooth; leave to rise on a baking tray lined with baking paper for about 40 minutes (max. 4 pieces per tray).

After this time, brush the surface of the rolls with milk, sprinkle with sesame seeds and allow to rise for a further 30 minutes.

Bake in a pre-heated, static oven at 180° for 15 minutes in the middle of the oven; the last 5 minutes turn on the grill and brown the surface.

Remove from the oven and cool on a wire rack!
